KNITTING || BUMBLE HATS & SWEATER ORNAMENTS

Each year I make my nephew a new "christmas hat" and it's become an annual knit I thoroughly enjoy knitting and look forward to. This year was even more fun since I also have a new niece to knit for! Luckily Tin Can Knits always has great patterns for the wee ones that are gender neutral! I love that about their patterns! I chose to make the Bumble Hat from their newest book "Max and Bodhi's Wardrobe" for the kiddos.

I decided to dig into my stash for this year's hats. For the blue hat I used leftovers of Madelinetosh Tosh DK (2 colorways) and the 2nd hat I used a combo of Madelinetosh Tosh DK and Julie Asselin Leizu DK. I love the results!

And if you follow me on Instagram you know I also got totally addicted to making sweater ornaments over the xmas break! I couldn't stop! So I couldn't resist adding 2 matching ones to go with their hats! Squeeeee! Aren't they so freaking adorable!!! I want to cover our tree in them along with socks and mitts next year!

The one shown below I made with the leftover yarn from my Baa-ble Hat that I whipped up. It's Knit Picks Wool of the Andes (in Cloud and Clarity) and goes so perfectly with the colour theme of my xmas tree. I didn't follow a pattern for my sweaters but you can find a ton of adorable ones on Ravelry. I particularly liked Susan B. Anderson's Tiny Top Down Pullover Sweater and Cardigan pattern. I definitely have plans to make tons more this year! Such a fun way to use leftovers!
