Today is my 40th bday :) I'm feeling both excited for what's to come and yet nostalgic for the time that's past. It's definitely a strange feeling and one that I've been spending a lot of time reflecting on during yoga and meditation. I don't want to feel sad or scared of my 40's - I want to own them. I want to show 40 who's boss...lol, and have a fabulous time enjoying being comfortable in my own skin and knowing my true self.
But yet the stigma still hangs in the back corners of my mind that dude - I'm 40. Is it really real? Am I really 40? How did time go by so fast and yet at times so slow? I swear my spirit self is 29 for life. I'm a big kid at heart and I literally forget that I am indeed my real age...lol. But part of the fun in my life comes from that "29 forever" self. She's what keeps me laughing and playful. But I'm hoping I'll be able to take all the things I've learned in my 40 years and combine my 29 year old inner self with my 40 year old body self. Wiser yet still playful. Forever a goofball.

I'm so thankful to be on this path with all of you. I started blogging almost 10 years ago and throughout my thirties you guys have been with me on my journey as a blogger and a designer in this little corner of the internet. It holds such a special place in my heart and the support and friendship you have all given me is beyond amazing.
It's hard to put into words all my thoughts and reflections on turning 40 and what the last 10 years has meant to me. All the things I've learned about myself and about being a wife, mother and friend. All the ups and downs, the wrongs and the rights. The tears I've cried, the late nights I've endured and all the smiles & laughs - oh how there's been smiles & deep belly laughs. It's truly been a crazy ride and one I'm so glad I've gotten to share with all of you. So many times you guys have lifted me up and brought me so much courage, strength and happiness. And most importantly friendship. I wish I could give each and every one of you a big Shanny hug!
